5. First up is Sin City on BluRay. Sure, the movie’s several years old, but the hi-def treatment is perfect for this visual tour-de-force.
4. The next release is Man on Wire. This bewildering documentary tells the story Frenchman Phillipe Petit’s high-wire walk between the twin towers of the World Trade Center in 1974.
3. In the number three spot, we have Horton Hears a Who. The 2008 year of animation was kicked off with this vibrant screen adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s beloved children’s classic.
2. At number two is LOST: The Complete Fourth Season. In its fourth year, this mind-bending, time-twisting series is still one of the best shows on television… and the DVD set continues to rock with two discs of bonus material.
1. And topping the list of my DVD picks is The Dark Knight. If you don’t know about this billion-dollar blockbuster by now, you don’t deserve to enjoy it… in the theater, on DVD or on BluRay.
STINKER OF THE WEEK – And be sure to avoid this week’s stinker – Ultimate Chick Fights Volumes 1 through 3. Because why avoid one volume of real girls beating the tar out of each other when you can avoid three of them.
And that’s the DVD Rundown. This is Kevin Carr, and that’s the way I see it.
